About the CEO
Monica Blair (single mother of six sons, local entrepreneur,community activist) is a lifelong resident of the Washington, DC's Petworth neighborhood. Retired from Verizon Communications after 25 years. Her affinity toward real estate began early in life. Her grandmother rented rooms in her house and her father was a founding member of The Webster Investment Group. With an inborn affinity her evolution into real estate has been a progressive move from learning to do rehab work hands on (drywall, carpentry, plumbing, telephone and electrical installation/repair), to becoming a certified home inspector. Ms Blair starting her first company, Safety First Home Inspection, LLC in 2007 and in 2010 she began MLUV Properties LLC, a real estate investment company. Recently she has parlayed her knowledge to consultant for outside companies needing analysis and recommendation as to new areas of technology to invest and develop.
Ms Blair has attended several noteworthy schools that she received specialized training in the realm of real estate from Real Estate Apprenticeship in Commercial Housing (commercial acquisitions, market analysis, syndication, value add analysis, and property management), Kaplan College (American Home Inspectors Training - AHIT which is ASHI Certified), Tigrent Learning (Commercial Properties, Land Development, Creative Finance) and The University of the District of Columbia (computer programming such as Data Processing, Cobol and Basic). In her down time she studies the greats such as Dave Lindahl, Ron LeGrand, Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Napoleon Hill and many more.
With such a passion she is active in many networking groups. She also has held membership with Real Investors Real Estate Investors Association and co-hosted a monthly informational webinar that broadcasted nationwide. Along with these groups she is working on an educational medium to teach financial literacy, Financial Literacy for Kidz. She also enjoys playing golf, water/beach activities and working with a local photographer of newborns as her assistant.
